  • SSD loading rate and PCIe SSD penetration challenge 50% mark

    In the oversupply state of the NAND Flash industry, the price of the Client SSD has followed a downward trend. However, the price decline has stimulated the growth of demand.     Observing the demand side, the read and write performance of PCIe SSDs is at least twice that of current SATA SSDs. For the fiercely competitive PC industry, the flagship specification war is undoubtedly a marketing highlight, and it is easy to attract consumers' attention. With this year's PCIe SSD has a chance to significantly reduce the price difference with SATA SSD, PC OEM leading manufacturers or module manufacturers are all actively promoting the proportion of their own PCIe SSD.

    On the other hand, on the price side, due to the oversupply of the NAND Flash market in the second quarter, most SSD suppliers are facing pressure to reduce their production capacity, and most SSD suppliers are promoting the latest generation of 64/72.     Most of the latecomers are currently focusing on SATA DRAM DRAMless control chip solutions. They chose to have a place in the SATA market before starting research and development on more challenging PCIe products. Among them, ASolid introduced the AS2258 SATA 6Gb/s SSD controller chip.
